abstract

3 cases of severe desquamative reactions of the oral mucosa after use of 0.2% Chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash are presented. Possible causative modes of action for these observations are discussed, and an alternative to use of 0.1% Chlorhexidine gluconate as a mouthwash is suggested.
